Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an instalment in very popular Grand Theft Auto series. Grand Theft Auto, or GTA for short, is a series of video games in which you play as a criminal working for different gangs. The game places you in an open-world environment, meaning within the world of the game, you are free to go where you want and do what you want.

The number of things you can do in the Teen rated GTA: San Andreas is truly amazing. Just to list a few: you can steal cars, burn cars, drive cars, run over people, buy weapons, shoot people, run over cops, shoot cops, blow up police cars, blow up police cars in order to set policemen on fire, spray tags onto walls, punch people, stab people, punch cops, stab cops, get a girlfriend, take your girlfriend to a restaurant, throw your girlfriend out of the car, run over your girlfriend, shoot your girlfriend, punch your girlfriend, stab your girlfriend, etc...

I have to mention that you can do non violent things as well, such as buy clothes, go for a run through the city, but the game does tend to push the player towards the more violent acts.

This game was rated T for Teen when it came out. Nobody said anything. Nobody complained, nobody protested; aside from a few stupid comments from Jack Thompson, there was no objection towards the game or its Teen rating. Everybody was fine with teenagers killing cops and burning innocent people alive.

Then a mod (= modification for a computer program) called 'hot coffee' was released for the game, and all hell broke loose. There was wave after wave of outrage, from furious parents to disgusted politicians. It set the world on fire.

You know what this mod did? It allowed you to have sex with your girlfriend. No, not rape her. Have sex with her. You have to take her out to dinner, do a couple of things with her that she likes to do, and in exchange, she'll have sex with you after a couple of dates (exactly like the real world if you ask me).

That is what caused all the uproar. Apparently it is perfectly normal for teenagers to get into gunfights, steal cars, and run over cops. But having sex with your girlfriend, now THAT is unheard of!
