The Power of Halo

Whether you like the games or not, there is no denying the popularity of Halo. Through perfected gameplay, strategic marketing, and pure hype, the Halo brand has gained a great amount of influence since the first one was released alongside the original Xbox back in 2001...
Guys who used to travel from bar to bar in search of drunk chicks now meet up on Xbox Live to duke it out mano-a-mano. Small kids no longer pray to God for their parents to get back together, they prey to Santa Clause for a X360 under their Xmas tree. People no longer turn to Jesus for guidance, they turn to Master Chief...
To show you the sheer power of Halo, here is a list of simple things Bungie could do to ensure the following four Halo titles become instant best sellers.

HALO 4: The Face of Master Chief
Who cares about what lies beneath the masks of the Helghast? Or what Markus Fenix's dad looks like? Yep, you guessed it, no one (of course, when I say no one, I'm talking about normal human beings. I do not include guys who play videogames until their eyes turn so red they resemble the very Hellghast they are killing). However, what lies beneath the Helmet of Master Chief is another story. The mere thought alone is enough to make teenage boys wet themselves. All Bungie needs to do is announce that Master Chief takes off his helmet at the end of Halo 4 and it will sell better than free beer.

HALO 5: The Death of Master Chief
Hardly anybody cared about Nathan Hale's death at the end of Resistance 2. Hardly anybody noticed the death of Dom's wife Maria in Gears of War 2. But when the 'believe trailer' hinted at Master Chief's death in Halo 3, the world fell silent. When the final cinematics of Halo 3 showed the number 117 carved into the memorial, players felt their hearts stop. Many went into severe depression as the credits rolled. Who knows what would have happened if the very last scene had not reassured gamers that Master Chief was still alive. The answer to that question alone is worth the purchase of HALO 5.

HALO 6: The Resurrection of Master Chief
At the beginning of the game, Master Chief gets resurrected by forerunner technology... With super powers... And a magic sword which he can use to summon a dragon... 'nough said.

HALO 7: After the Flood
After six Halo games, Bungie finally here's the cries of their fans and decide to make a Halo game without the flood. There is a worldwide celebration. Kids around the globe get the day off to play Bungie's new masterpiece.

There you have it. Bungie can make those four games as crappy as possible, and people will still buy and play them. That is power no other videogame franchise has. That is the power of Halo.
