YODA: 'Do Or Do Not, There Is No Try'.
In terms of logic, if you take a sentence or an idea, it is either true or false. You are either dead or alive. either 2+2 = 4 or it doesn't. you were either driving over the speed limit, or under it. there is no almost true, no almost correct. This is how logic works.
Logic is colorblind and sees things in black and white. Don't believe me? Look at computers. You can't get much more logical, and how do they operate? With 0 and 1. Nothing in between. No almost 0 or almost 1. So, in order to apply logic, ignore colors and look at the black and white.
Here's an example: banning firearms. instead of looking at things that can't be seen in black and white, such as how many people want to ban firearms and how badly they want it, take a more logic oriented aproach. does a gun ban infringe on any basic human rights? Is saving lives a valid reason to infringe on someone else's freedom? The answers to such questions can only be yes or no.
In order to apply logic to a problem, first formulate the problem in terms of such yes and no questions. Once you do, logic will quickly give you the undeniable answers.
